Welcome to the Institute for Collective Dream Research! As pioneers in the field of group sleepwalking, we study how teams dream together and synchronize their dream experiences. Our findings are unambiguous: while individuals remain trapped inside their own dreams, groups can explore the dream world together — and even steer it deliberately.
For this particular series of studies we’ve taken rooms at the Inn of Dreams. A special magic prevails there, one that allows people to fall asleep standing up. Gentle sleeping music and a purpose-written bedtime story prepare you for your shared dream.
In today’s dream, Christmas and Easter collide into utter chaos: Santa mutates into a clumsy Easter Man, the Easter Bunny turns into a cheeky Christmas Hare — and to top it all off, 30 time eggs go tumbling off in every direction.
Together with the time egg dispenser E.G.G. 5000, Willi the elf, Hasi the rabbit, and Hildebertha the hen, you’ll have to untangle the mess. A rich mix of puzzles at wildly different difficulty levels awaits you, alongside a classic Easter egg hunt. Can you restore festive order before the next sleepwalking cycle begins again?
What to expect
- A one-of-a-kind loop concept: the room adapts to you as you play — families and first-timers get just as much out of it as seasoned puzzle veterans.
- A gloriously silly holiday story: a comic fusion of Easter and Christmas with oddball characters like Willi the elf, Hasi, Hildebertha the hen, and the highly sophisticated E.G.G. 5000.
- The 30-time-egg challenge: alongside the trickier puzzles, a full-scale search awaits. Teams who find all 30 eggs without a single hint are in very select company.
- Sleepwalking on your feet: a pre-show all of its own that catapults you straight into the shared group dream.
How the Time Vortex came to be
After we’d already fitted a second concept, “A Nightmare before Christmas,” into the same set, our fingers started itching again in 2025, the year of the move: we wanted to offer our regulars something new before the rebuild swallowed us whole.
For years it had been a running joke here whenever guests played A Christmas Dream around Easter: “Well, when Easter and Christmas fall on the same day …” At some point we thought: why not turn that line into a room of its own?
Shortly before Easter 2025 we came across Willi the elf — a thoroughly likeable fellow wearing a classic elf hat that couldn’t quite hide his long bunny ears. He looked straight at us in the shop and seemed to be pleading: take me with you! Said and done. For a purely Christmas room, Willi and his rabbit ears were far too odd — but he was the missing piece that brought our old Easter-meets-Christmas idea roaring back to life.
Since we were still waiting on planning permission at that point, we seized the moment: in a genuine sprint, we developed the entire story concept around the festive chaos over the course of a few dream phases. That’s also where the idea for the room’s centerpiece came from: the time egg dispenser E.G.G. 5000.
It quickly turned out to be our biggest technical challenge — there are, sadly, no kits or blueprints for interactive time egg dispensers. But this kind of tinkering and one-off building is exactly what we love. After countless hours of soldering, wiring, and programming, the machine worked perfectly — and the results speak for themselves: today the E.G.G. 5000 is, alongside Hildebertha the hen, the absolute highlight and the room’s secret star.
